Trade unions representing Grama Niladari officers have announced plans to commence an indefinite strike from Monday (08) if their demands are not met by Friday (05). Currently, they are conducting a work-to-rule campaign to protest the absence of a service constitution and inadequate allowance increases. Jagath Chandralal, General Secretary of the All Island Freedom Grama Niladari Union, expressed dissatisfaction, noting that despite multiple discussions, the Ministry has not communicated a decision to them yet.
