Neostigmine Import Alleviates Anesthetic Drug Shortage

The Ministry of Health has addressed the anesthetic drug shortage by importing Neostigmine, a crucial medication. Dr. G. Weerasuriya, Deputy Director General of the Medical Supplies Unit, confirmed that the newly received stock is being distributed throughout the hospital system. This timely import is expected to resolve immediate shortages. Additionally, Dr. Weerasuriya announced that another shipment is due next week. He also noted that the country is facing a shortage of around 40 different types of medicines.
