Neostigmine Import Alleviates Shortage of Anesthetic Drugs

The Ministry of Health is addressing the anesthetic drug shortage by importing the crucial medicine Neostigmine. Dr. G. Weerasuriya, Deputy Director General of the Medical Supplies Unit, confirmed that the new stock is being distributed to hospitals. This import is expected to address immediate concerns.

Additionally, Dr. Weerasuriya announced that another shipment is expected next week. He also noted that the country is facing a shortage of about 40 different types of medicines.
